G'day and welcome to Jack Drake's bush poetry website.
You've logged on to some fair dinkum Australian bush poetry entertainment written and produced in the Queensland, Australia mountains near Stanthorpe in south-east Queensland. After years as a horseman, stockman, rodeo competitor and outback showman bush poet Jack is reciting his bush poetry and telling his stories in verse via his bush poetry performance CDs and books.

At the Tamworth Country Music Festival, Jack won the coverted Gold Gum Leaf Award for the best book of original verse for 2004. We sold out of the books we had with us! Jack also won another national Award - the Asthma Award.
Watch out for Jack's next book expected to be released at the end of 2004. It is an historical book comparing the many forgotten legends of Australia's pioneering heros and heroines to America's Wild West characters. It will be published by Central University Press again and release dates and places plus the name of the book will be available later in the year.

Site Updated 3rd July 2003 Jack's book, "The Cattle Dog's Revenge", published by Central Queensland University Press has now been released! This publication contains original work by Jack Drake - some old favourites plus many new poems, and some short stories. It is available countrywide through all good newsagencies and book shops, and online through the CQU Press website, as well as from Jack when he is on tour and posted directly through Jack. This book has won the 2004 Best Book of Original Verse in the Australian Bush Laureate Awards, and Jack is preparing a second bush poetry book to be released by CQUP in late 2004.
